The Great Wall of China is one of the greatest building construction projects in the history of human civilization. It is not only grand in scale, but also showcases the immense power and miracles that people can create when they are united. Circus arts has existed for thousands of years, and has overcome numerous difficulties and obstacles. People of the circus hold mutual-trust and can overcome struggles. They are an industry that is constantly in the pursuit of excellence, they are valiant, dedicated and can rise to any challenge. Artists of the festival unite together for the Great Wall Cup to continue to develop the art form.

“Great Wall Cup” China International Online Circus Festival is a new project launched in 2022 by the China Acrobats Association(CAA). It aims to improve the influence of circus arts throughout the world. The Festival adheres to the values of circus world, promoting cultural exchange to enhance mutual understanding and friendship. Through this collaboration we hope to improve learning and to strengthen theoretical research that will the enhance circus arts.

Since 2012 when CAA conferred its first “Great Wall Cup” prize in the 36th International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo, this prize has been awarded to 47 acts from 19 countries in 19 international circus festivals globally. The winner of "Great Wall Cup" prize in-turn becomes a recognised circus personality and will be given a priority recommendation by the CAA to organising committees of other international circus festivals in China, such as the China Wuqiao International Circus Festival, China Wuhan International Acrobatic Art Festival and China International Circus Festival, etc. Thus, increasing the chance that the artist will be selected to compete in the other festivals.
